How beaches looked 100 years ago

Some of these photos are over a hundred years old. No bikinis , scooters , etc. But it seems that people had quite a lot of different entertainment and without it.

Those were great. My favorites were the very first image, and this one about half way http://www.evilclownvalley.com/img/fun/beach_before/beach_before24.jpg
because it looked so much like Grand Jete, like a painting, but was real. I’ve never seen umbrellas like those, only in paintings. Thank you for including so many photos!

Is not that one from the 50’s?

I think that the woman, and the rest of men show to much “meat” to be part of 100 years ago. The greatest thing of that is that all that appear in the pictures were once alive, and now they are all dead…even the kids. It is like a vivid “Ubi Sunt”.

It makes me think how much fun my Big Grandma and her mom and dad must have had when she ws little. Real times are fun to see, nothing better than having fun at the beaches!
Thanks

It looks like they’re playing an early form of scrabble in one of the pictures.

I don’t think all of these are from 100 years ago. Most of them probably are, but a few look to be from the 1910’s, 20’s, 30’s and even one from the 40’s (the girl in the white swimsuit). But I guess relatively speaking, they’re all from about 100 years ago more or less. A few look possibly to be even older. The womens’ fashions (in the ones where you see them fully clothed, not in bathing suits) are a good indicator. Some of these date may date to the early 1900’s.
